Fernando Iriarte is a screenwriter and film director born in Bogotá, Colombia. He has a degree in Art History from the Universidad de Los Andes. He is earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in screenwriting and film directing at Columbia University, where he also served as a screenwriting professor in the film studies department.
In 2011, he wrote and directed the short film Punto de Fuga (NFFTY International Official Selection, 2011). In 2013, he was a costume and makeup assistant on the set of the film Ella, directed by Libia Stella Gómez. In 2014, he wrote and directed the short film Detrás de la Puerta, which premiered at
Fernando has written two feature film scripts during his stay at Columbia: El Lamento de la Montaña, which is currently under review. He also wrote the short film Delirio, which is currently in development.
In October 2020, Fernando graduated from Columbia University with the title of Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting and Film Directing.
