Jasmin Tenucci was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, where studied film directing at São Paulo University. There, she wrote and directed "Descompasso" (2010), a short that traveled to festivals nationally and abroad. During school and after graduation, Jasmin produced and served as cinematographer on several award-winning short films.

Soon after graduating, her short film got a screenwriting award that broke her into the television industry in her country. Recognized as a strong writer of female-driven stories, often with a touch of comedy and some genre, she has since written several notable Brazilian sketch and fiction series.

In 2015 Jasmin won a scholarship to attend the Columbia University Film MFA, to get back to developing her personal projects and honing her directing skills.
She presently lives between NYC, where's she's developing an American feature, and São Paulo, where she seasonally writes for a television show for the country’s biggest network (Rede Globo) while preparing for her thesis short film and developing her Brazilian feature.
