Jasmin Tenucci is a Brazilian film and television writer and director. She has written for several Brazilian television shows, including co-developing and staff writing Globo’s acclaimed series AS FIVE (2020) and creating and showrunning the GNT comedy-drama series TEMPERO SECRETO (2016).
In 2015, Jasmin won a scholarship and enrolled in Columbia University’s Film MFA. There she taught directing to undergraduates, as well as wrote, produced, and/or directed many international projects, including DARLING (2019), which won Best Short Film at the 2019 Venice Film Festival. She will act as associate director on the feature film based on the short in September 2021, in Pakistan. Along with films shot in Brazil, Iceland, Pakistan, and the United States, Jasmin has directed episodes of the Brazilian television series SHOP TUDO (Glaz Entretenimento). Her latest short AUGUST SKY (2021) premiered locally in Brazil at the Tiradentes Film Festival and will premiere internationally in Summer 2021.
Currently, Jasmin works as a writer on a yet-to-be-announced Netflix series set to premiere in January 2022. She is also in development for two feature films: AUGUST SKY, based on her short of the same name, as well as THE SMALLEST WHALE IN THE WORLD, which won the 2017 Alfred P. Sloan Development Grant.
