Mariana is a Colombian Writer/Director. She has directed short films and commercials in Colombia, Mexico, the U.S and Morocco. She is a Columbia University MFA Graduate, winner of the Milos Forman Directing Fellowship and the Directors Guild of America Jury Student Award.
Her latest short film, Entre tú y Milagros, won the Orizzonti award for Best Short Film at the 77th Venice International Film Festival in 2020. The film has also been awarded multiple awards in a variety of festivals around the world, including the Hamptons International Film Festival, POFF shorts, TOFFIFEST and Reykjavík International Film Festival. The short film is now featured in The New Yorker Magazine and in Criterion Channel.
She is currently living in Mexico City and writing her first feature, La Botero, which will be shot in Medellín, Colombia.
